Exhibition Overview

Art/Space 114 invites artists to submit work to our inaugural juried photography exhibition with the theme “The Magic of Light.”

Film, digital, and alternative process photography (including hybrid approaches) will be considered. Photographers of all levels are encouraged to submit work that reflects the theme “The Magic of Light.”

This international call for entry is open to all artists working in photography.

All entries must be original works of art and entirely the work of the entrant. AI-generated images will not be accepted. Accepted works will be exhibited at Art/Space 114 in Los Angeles, California.

Awards and Exhibition Details

Our jurors will select 50 images for exhibition at the gallery in Downtown Los Angeles.

Solo exhibition at Art/Space 114 during Open Call exhibition and $500 cash award
Second Place: $250
Third Place: $100

How to apply

All entrants must use the Entry Thingy online entry system.

  1. Navigate to Art/Space 114’s open call page and create an Entry Thingy account (linked here)

  2. Submit 3–5 works following the specifications listed below. $10 for each additional image (up to 15 total images).

  3. Upload your files into your portfolio with these specifications:

    • Image resolution: Minimum 1500 pixels (long dimension)

    • Files must not exceed 5 MB.

    • Please remove any visible names, titles, watermarks, etc.

Please note: Selected images and titles will be printed in the exhibition catalog directly from the information accompanying each file. Your personal information and image data will be our only source of information. Be certain that your name, titles, dates, dimensions, sales prices, and medium (archival pigment, platinum, silver gelatin, etc.) are accurate. Please title each image; "Untitled" is not allowed.

Framing and Shipping: Artists whose work is selected for exhibition are responsible for all framing and shipping arrangements. All accepted works must arrive ready to install (properly framed or otherwise professionally presented, with appropriate hardware if required). Artists are responsible for the cost and coordination of shipping to and from Art/Space 114, located at 114 W 4th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Detailed delivery and return instructions will be provided upon acceptance.

Notification and Submission of Artwork: All entrants will be notified of the results via automated email after April 4, 2026. Check your spam or junk folders for this notice.

Juror Biography

Ann M. Jastrab is the Executive Director of the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) in Carmel, California. CPA advances photography through education, exhibition, and publication.

Prior to CPA, Ann served as Gallery Director at RayKo Photo Center in San Francisco for ten years, where she developed a thriving artist-in-residence program. Multiple RayKo residents went on to receive Guggenheim Fellowships. She also worked as Gallery Manager at Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco, where she curated exhibitions pairing contemporary artists with legends of photography.

During her tenure at the Center for Photographic Art, Ann has created significant artist grant and scholarship programs to support creatives and students. She has expanded the organization from a regional arts center to one with members across six continents. Most recently, she launched PhotoCarmel, a photography festival celebrating the medium on California’s Central Coast.

Ann regularly serves as a juror and reviewer for numerous organizations and institutions.
