Art/Space Initiative Application
Application Process and Eligibility
Art/Space 114 is an interdisciplinary residency welcoming artists working across a range of mediums and creative practices, including but not limited to image-based work, installation, sculpture, film, and performance. Both emerging and established artists are welcome to apply.
We are committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive creative environment that supports artists from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We aim to expand access to creative space and resources by providing artists with a supportive, and interdisciplinary environment in which to develop their practices. Through rent-free occupancy the first year, and a pathway to long-term affordable tenancy, Art/Space 114 seeks to reduce financial barriers, allowing artists greater flexibility to experiment, pursue new ideas, and grow their practices over time.
Applicants should submit the following materials:
Statement of Purpose A 250–500 word statement describing your artistic practice, your interest in participating in the Art/Space Initiative, and how access to a dedicated space in Downtown Los Angeles would support your work and professional development.
Work Samples Three to five samples of previous work, including but not limited to images, installation documentation, sculpture, film, performance documentation, or links to other relevant media.
CV/Resume: A current CV highlighting relevant professional experience, exhibitions, screenings, performances, publications, education, or other accomplishments.
Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, we will only be able to respond to applicants if a suitable space becomes available and all eligibility criteria are met. Submission of an application does not guarantee placement.
